Stephan Aal

I have come to visual art late in life. After a career as a software engineer, with music as my main leisure activity I wanted more creative outlets. Following my retirement, I went back to college and studied at Leeds College of Art. The thing that gripped me there was ceramics, but I learnt a lot about colour, printmaking, history of art, and above all how to develop an art practice. It wasn't until after I left college that I started Urban sketching, which I've been doing for about five years now. I travel a lot, especially to lesser-known parts of Spain. I want to record a personal experience of the places I visit and I do that with Urban Sketching.
