Hi, I’m Sandra, a travel & fine art photographer based in London.
I bought my first camera in my late teens but photography didn’t become a major part of my life until 20 years later when I experienced a renewed enthusiasm and appreciation for it after a three month overland trip from London to Turkey.
For the next 9 years I continued my job as a freelance production manager in the film industry taking time off whenever I could to travel with camera in hand. In 2016 I decided to leave my job to pursue photography full time.
Capturing calming minimalist images, I immerse myself in the act of photography using it as a type of meditation thus allowing me to slow down and create a moment of reflection and stillness both in body and mind. I prefer travelling to places out of season when they’re quiet so I can experience it in a different way.
I have led photography workshops in both the UK and Morocco and worked as an Expedition Photographer sailing around the archipelago of Svalbard, half way between Norway and the North Pole. More recently I have become a creative and business mentor for photographers and artists which I enjoy immensely and something I want to build on, alongside my photography practice.
I have had two solo exhibitions and also participated in various group shows both in London and abroad.
I have self-published two books “Adfectus: An Exploration of Life and How We Fit Into the World” and U N I T showcasing work from my Hidden Beauty series. I am currently working on my next book.
