Raul Aguilar

I am a self-taught multi discipline artist born in Mexico City. l moved to San Francisco in the mid 1980's where I volunteered for different art non-profits and community groups. While I'm traditionally a painter, my current work ventures into sculptural elements and other artistic platforms. My work takes inspiration from Papier Mache, toys and other traditional folk art. My art has been exhibited at Galeria de la Raza in San Francisco, the Oakland Museum of California, The Center for Book & Paper Arts in Chicago, and Museo del Barrio in New York City. Most recently I've shown at The Seattle Erotic Art Festival.
