By day, I manage a global IT customer support team, but by night and on the weekends, I dive deep into the creative side of my brain: photography, drawing, painting, and woodworking. In my photography, I've shot news editorial, portraits, weddings, and events. For my drawing and painting, I do watercolor, acrylic, and marker. In my woodworking, I've made end tables coffee tables, headboards for beds, shoe racks, and charcuterie boards. I've also turned bowls, chalices, and platters. I took a blacksmithing class just to see what that was like (but my wife put her foot down when I wanted to set up a forge in the backyard).
I learn most of this stuff through online training courses and youtube videos, and then go try out what I've learned. No matter how old you are, you can still learn something new.
