Miguel Juarez

That's me in my profile photograph, painted in a mural by Los Angeles artist, John Valadez. I have organized art exhibits, written about art and artists, interviewed artists, taught history courses with guest speakers (filmmakers, artists and cartoonists). I previously recorded a 19-part series titled "Frontera Artists: Mexican and Chicano artists of El Paso" where I interviewed artists producing work in El Paso, Texas. Currently, I incorporate the campus Maker spaces in teaching history so college students can "make history," as well as create videos and podcasts. I LOVE drawing biographical cartoons based on daily dilemmas. I used to paint cartoons using paint brushes and fabric paint on clothing and I sold some of my painted garments at Unique Clothing Warehouse in Soho in NYC many moons ago. I was also commissioned to paint a chef's coat for designer Bob Mackie.
