Marya Sosulski

I am originally from Chicago, Illinois, but I've lived in several places throughout the Midwest and traveled to a few places in Europe and once to South Africa. I love to travel, and when I'm there I often take photos of beautiful gardens that I'd like to draw. When I was in college, I briefly majored in plant biology; but I changed my major when I realized that my favorite part was drawing the plants (not studying the science!). I still love biology and science, but now I reserve them for my "hobbies and outside interests." My "day job" is teaching policy and community organizing in the School of Social Work at the university level. Other hobbies/interests include reading, going to local events (festivals, concerts, etc.), visiting with family and friends, motorcycle riding with my partner, gardening, finding unusual places with good food and drink, TV and movies, and dabbling in textiles/crafts.
