Deanne Lawn

My name is Deanne and I have been making and creating for as long as I remember. For the longest time, I have tried to reinvent the world around me using clay, textiles, paint and paper. One of my earliest memories is when I was about 4yrs old, I tried to make a pair of shoes from a treasured piece of green velvet. I was so disappointed when I couldn’t fit them on my foot. Ever since, I have been fascinated with 3D form and the structures within. My quest for 3D art forms are more relaxed now, particularly because the repurposing of junk and found objects help to influence my creations. I also have an interest in dolls and simple human forms and continue to explore how these motives can be used in my art in any medium I choose.
