Jolanta Putniņa

My name is Jolanta. I am Latvian but I live in the United Kingdom. I am a multi-skilled artist who works with such different media like textiles, acrylics and watercolours, fashion, and photography. I am studying the therapy of art and want to turn my career in this direction.
My inspirations are Maija Nora Tabaka (1939, Latvia), Auseklis Baušķenieks (1910–2007, Latvia), Kārlis Sūniņš (1907-1979, Latvia), Sigismunds Vidbergs (1890-1970, Latvia), the costume designer Baiba Puzina (1944-1999), Latvia), the costume designer Kristine Pasternaka (Head Costume Designer of the Latvian National Opera), Russian painter Igor Sakharov and photographers Jordan Matter (USA), Gennady Blohin (Russia), Igor Sakharov (Russia).
I always knew, that my field is to be creative. I just procrastinated this moment till I realize that two-thirds of my life is gone.
I feel joy when inspiration comes. I feel so excited while I am deciding with the media will be the best for a project. Then it goes to the planning stage- can I do it on my own or together with others. Sometimes projects are time-consuming (few weeks till year) and I am getting tired at the end of the project. But being an artist is making me happy.
