i am full time artist working in clay & paint, having come to my full expression in these mediums only in the past 4 years. i am starting to show my work. i like being in relationship with nature as i work, preferring to gather my own clay from the mountains i live in, hand build my pieces, & open pit fire/anagama/wood fire my works. i like to have control as i build, but I also appreciate finding the balance with "other" & allowing for the "happy accidents" that frequently show me another (frequently better) way. my painting is abstract expression/color field. i'm exploring painting with clay as well as acrylic & oil. my work is meditative & healing - prayerful - i am grateful to be able to work as i do - and i feel the blessings of being a maker, especially in this past year+ of COVID.
