My undergraduate work was focused in fine arts during the Macintosh tcomputer coming of age, so I branched off to graphic design and advertising. It was not fulfilling. An opportunity to teach high school art redirected me to graduate school to become a teacher for the deaf and hearing impaired with a focus on art. Fast forward to today…My wonderful son works as an optometrist and I've been a public school teacher for over 20 years. Most of my career has been valued as an elementary teacher for 4th grade and 2nd grade students. They taught me to love bats, use mistakes as discoveries, and sing or dance your way through stressful times. That said, my creativity over the years has been, what I call, practical resourcefulness with splashes of personal fine art along the way. Luckily, my sweet husband encourages my creative impulses. Most of my fine art has been gifted away, but one day I hope to have a gallery party to display my creative journey.
