The way I got into photographing life around me is quite funny. I basically told someone that she was taking shots I really liked with her phone and that, in my humble and profane opinion, she should have tried taking pictures more often and with a "serious" camera. Long story short, I began researching cameras to give as a present to this person, and I ended up buying my first camera instead.
I realised I actually like taking pictures. I like it a lot!
I always had a great memory, but I was never great at telling my story about the memories I had. Particularly when describing "moments", feelings, colours and other ephemeral stuff, I always found myself telling a never ending story with no real meaning for anyone except me. I find that taking a picture, and describing those ephemeral moments in a shot is much more effective than trying to describe them in words...and I guess this is what I liked about my first year as a very amateur photographer.
