I grew up loving to read the classics--"Treasure Island", "Kidnapped", etc and was always attracted to these great stories because of the beautiful artwork by artists such as NC Wyeth, Maxfield Parrish and so on. However, when I came upon the great book, "Otto Of The Silver Hand" by Howard Pyle I was immediately in love with his beautiful pen and ink drawings. Through his drawings and the rich engravings by Albrecht Durer, I began a lifelong love of line and ink. I've just recently returned to drawing, after years of working in a non-artistic job, and now that I'm retired I want to pursue pen and ink drawing and perhaps story-telling like the Masters I so admired when I was young. I feel that I need a lot of guidance on how to begin.
