Debra Crary

I have been making art since I was a child. I grew up in Central New York where I studied Advertising Art and then got a degree in Art History. I wanted to study visual arts, but I love history and I thought it might be easier to get a job in Art History. I was right. Of course, my languages (English, French, Spanish) and a M. Ed. were a big help, too. I have taught Art History and Language Arts in Mexico, France, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. I retired in 2016 and moved to Merida, Mexico where I am finally free to make art full time. Since covid started, I have been working exclusively in acrylics, but feel it’s time for a break. I have played around with Mixed Media and have always wanted to give collage a go.
