Portraits contemporains à l'huile

Took course to try to loosen my style and I liked the look of Wolken’s finished work. Great instruction although some of the translation comments didn’t make sense. Towards the end of the course, it got mind-numbing by showing every detail Wolken made until he felt it was finished; details that could have been explained showing before/after results rather than forcing me to watch each minute change.

Als Kunsttherapeutin habe ich viel Erfahrung im kreativen Arbeiten, aber Ölmalerei war für mich Neuland. Der Kurs hat mich genau da abgeholt, wo ich stand: klar strukturiert, ohne unnötige Längen und gleichzeitig voller Inspiration. Besonders gefallen hat mir, dass ich ein Urlaubsfoto so umsetzen konnte, wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte - realtistisch, aber mit einem Hauch Abstraktion. Der Kurs hat nicht nur Techniken vermittelt, sondern vor allem auch Lust aufs Malen gemacht.

This course is very giving for every student. I have gained a lot of understanding about the material and about my own thinking how to approach my work. The teacher is good, he explains everything very well and works slowly and thoughtfully about the project.

Großen Dank für diesen wunderbaren Kurs, der viele Grundlagen mitgibt und zeigt wie man sich leicht und effektiv an Proportionen und Tonwerte ranarbeitet. Das Schönste aber ist, dass Torsten uns motiviert die eigene Kreativität zu finden, den Prozess zu zelebrieren und mit Leichtigkeit und Gelassenheit zu malen. Es war eine wahre Freude!

Very stimulating presentation, I have painted portraits before, but am now going to try these new ideas. I think I'll watch it again before tackling my first attempt using the new knowledge.
