Schade, da Sam Brisley simatisch wirkt und auch interessante Techniken verwendet. Letztlich schau ich ihm beim Zeichnen zu. Die Bücher von Andre Loomes helfen mir hier mehr.

The information on light sources and shadow really open the portraits up. It is all described simply and thouroughly, and has given me a greater underdstanding of what I've been trying to do.

Great course. Solid fundamentals of portraiture and easy-to-follow technique that can be applied to assorted styles and mediums. Sam explains a ton about anatomy without getting cumbersome and too technical. Basically just enough to understand how light and shadow play with features, and proportions and what tools/pencils are best to express those things realistically enough to create a likeness of the subject.

Learned a lot from this course. Sam did a great job of explaining the structure of the face and the way shadows are used to create the illusion of form and depth. I highly recommend this course if you are interested in drawing portraits.

Came back to say how well this course taught me how to use graphite to its full extent and how to map out the face. I'm still learning how to do the face well, but it's better than before when doing it freehanded

This is a terrific foundational course to show you valuable tools and techniques to improve the structure of your drawings. The exercises and demos build on each other nicely.

This instructor has an interesting and great way of approaching portraits. He teaches how to focus on proportion of course, but just as important he teaches in depth about shape, volume, shadow, and tone. It is less about lines which is a more common approach and more about what is seen with light and shadow. It was refreshing and certainly will have techniques that you can add to your portraits when approaching them with fresh eyes. I would purchase another course of his if he creates one.
