I really enjoy this course. I like the combination of a precise part in the painting and, conversely, an almost abstract background. Nicely explained.

Un cours vraiment excellent. Je suis très reconnaissante à Sarah pour toutes ses explications, qui m'ont permis de me débloquer à l'aquarelle. Ça faisait presque dix années que je tâtonnais, sans vraiment comprendre ce que je faisais (je ne parvenais pas à planifier mon travail de A à Z pour réaliser une peinture construite et cohérente), et ce cours a levé toutes les zones d'ombre qui m'empêchaient de progresser et surtout, d'être un minimum satisfaite de mes aquarelles ! Un grand merci 🙏

Sara es una gran profesora: clara y amena en las explicaciones tanto de conceptos básicos clave como los "valores tonales" a conceptos mas específicos de acuarela. Uno de los mejores cursos de acuarela.

I had thought this was a course in painting colorful animals - which it is, in a way. Sarah finds the delicate colors in a photo and includes them in her paintings. Not loose or alla prima style, she is using 3-4 layers to reach the values in each painting. This is how I paint, and I've enjoyed listening to her process and what she's thinking. There is a lot of fairly time-intensive homework, this is a course that builds up your skills as you go through the various homework assignments.

The instructor is excellent. This is the second course by her that I've taken and I'm going to take a third one soon.

I highly recommend this course! Sarah Stokes is an accomplished artist as well as an excellent teacher. She explains her painting process in a lovely low-key manner and in a clear, cheery voice. Sarah's enunciation is crisp and clear and I have no problem understanding every word even though I have advanced hearing loss.
