His manner is informative without being pompous. I really appreciate the methods and structure he gives to his course.

Lots of writing classes are more theoretical in nature, so it was fascinating to get a first-hand look into Shaun's process and see his story develop. He has a great teaching style and made short story writing feel a lot less intimidating. I’d recommend this course to anyone wanting to explore this medium of storytelling.

For me, the course was hilly. I climbed with low expectations; his writing was not "elegant" - simplistic. Suggestions like brainstorming were not new. Expectations began to go downhill. The journey became positive -the sun began to shine. He provided a map that could help me hike faster on my own path. In the end, I was glad to make the trip. Shaun's suggestions were comforting, helpful. The writing landscape seems bigger, and want to embrace it.
