This was a great course, well laid out and easy to follow. I like his reminder that every painting is a journey and not to be too hard on yourself when you are starting out.

I really appreciated how AJ showed each step along the way of his painting, from sketching to shipping. I liked how he also included the "struggles" that can come with getting the original sketch "correct" enough that you can work from/with it. He even went into the importance of looking at the hue/value/chroma of each area of the face to make it appear rounded and realistic. I've been painting for a few years, but these tips are always valuable to remember. Thank you for a great course!

El mejor curso de oleo aquí en Domestika. El maestro es muy paciente con la voz clara y explica super bien. El mejor profesor que he visto. Lo único que no me gusto fue que fue muy corto, muy general y que deberían haber una segunda parte y que hayan más cursos de él. Hay que tener ciertos conocimientos de óleo para hacer este curso, no lo reomiendo para principiantes.

Sincèrement, j'ai bien apprécié ce cours, je le trouve consistant et très pratique.

Hi, This course starts of really informative and detailed, and then towards the end, when the finer detail needs to be added to the painting, it stops abruptly and the refining is left to the student to figure out.

Hopefully this art teachers other courses are compiled in a more user friendly way, but I will not pay money to find out.

This course got me back into painting after decades of inactivity. Sometimes you need a person to show you how accessible art can be again, the steps to setting up a simple and successful atelier to work in perpetuity. A. J. Alper's background in high tech makes him an effective, systematic teacher, and his passion for art and Sargent's style makes him a compelling painter of portraiture. I've been a fan of his work ever since.
