Brenda Valk - Van Haaren

In 2022 I started drawing. I've always liked it, but thought it was to difficult for me. I needed something to keep me balanced en found that in drawing. Along the way I discovered I like to draw houseportraits (Started with the book of Carla Kamphuis). In "real" live I have nothing with buildings more with nature. Due to the drawing i'm now facinated with every detail of a house/building. I keep practicing en learning and try to enjoy the proces (instead of needing a perfect result). I try out different media, but i'm in love with alcoholmarkers in combination with coloured pencils (and sometimes I add some gouache) Now and then I make a portrait on commission for people I know. It's so beautiful te see the tears of happiness when they receive their personal houseportrait. A house is a home.
