Abel Bartolich

I work with the copper relief-etching technique, combining traditional methods with modern approaches, drawing inspiration from William Blake's techniques. I create detailed, high-contrast prints from copper plates using a combination of hand-drawing and etching. I print my artworks by hand on a press, transferring them from the copper plates onto white paper with black ink. My drawings feature organic forms and bold contrasts, with a focus on the interplay between positive and negative space, and an absence of mid-tones. I refer to this style as Organic Contrast Abstraction.
