Yimiao Wang

Yimiao Wang holds an MFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and a BA in Gender Studies with a minor in Comparative Literature from UCLA.

Her work spans illustration, graphic novels, and short stories, exploring themes of emotional vulnerability, institutional critique, and existential questions. She is committed to blending critical theory with visual storytelling, seeking to engage with complex societal issues through art and narrative.

Her illustration work has been recognized with Merit Awards from the 3x3 International Illustration Show No.20 (2023) and the iJungle Illustration Awards (2022 and 2023). Her short stories, Plot and The Land of Ultimate Bliss, were shortlisted for the Next Generation Short Story Award. Yimiao’s self-published graphic memoir Hiders won the Next Generation Indie Book Award in the Young Author category.
