Do Fu Xie

Electronics hardware engineer and embedded systems software engineer in Silicon Valley. I retired early, or perhaps a less polite way to put it is that i burned out in around 1997, my health stopped me from doing it anymore so i moved to San Francisco and started studying art. That took me through many phases of visual art including my favorite sculpture from found objects, and i joined and helped found a music collective, and on and on until i finally ended up here. But that's not really me is it. I am a being of the human genre still in the state of what we refer to as alive. At the moment, besides some attempt at humor and communication, i am mostly focused on music and photography. My musical goal is a joining of jazz and electronic music. I play the Chapman Stick, and guitar, and keyboards, and vocal cords. I am still learning all four as i am still learning in all aspects of "my" life.
I don't have a true photography goal, other than getting better at photography. I do want to tell stories which is why i enrolled in the class about storytelling through photography. After i am able to create coherent stories with photography, by then i will probably know what to do with it. Showing in art galleries would be good. I have done gallery shows before but i've never been satisfied with the show. That would be a goal. The same for a magazine spread. Dream goal? A series in Vogue or National Geographic? :)
I love to learn new things, hence i joined with Domestika and have already enrolled in three courses. Storytelling Through Photography, Turning Sketchbooks into Art, and How to Pose Models. Domestika seems very good, i have joined with other online schools and while i an't say yet which is best (and probably never will), i like Domestika a lot. I like the fact that they are more international and i think for this reason will give the students a broader point of view than a lot of the other online schools. (atm i am wondering if Domestika has a singing class).
So that's pretty much what i do and have done, but of course not really who i am. I'm not sure that can be accurately put into a words for anyone. Much love, respect, and peace
