Professional Joiner/Cabinet Maker, with background in Industrial Design, from Brazil living in Melbourne Australia.
Less than a year ago I carved my first spoon from seasoned pine. ( was ok, yeah I could do it!! ) Been busy with another projects and learning some new joinery technics so I didn't get much time to improve on carving spoons. Then 2 months ago I carved the second spoon, a green piece of wood that I found at the park after a thunderstorm. That was an amazing experience! Wo green wood is like carving butter!!! Today I just finished my Third spoon again from green wood that I found randonmly in the park a few weeks ago. Well, I still struggle to find good wood. How to identify the right species of trees and etc. I want to learn much more how to identify trees, thats very essential, because yeah, I really want to make a living of carving wooden products!!
