Ylenia Vimercati Molano

My name is Ylenia Vimercati, I was born and raised in Italy. I have an MSc degree in Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology. I am committed to the well-being of wildlife and the environment.
My strong passion for nature and its incredible perfection pushed me to draw animals and landscapes since very little. During high school, I attended an art Academy in Italy which fostered my creativity and gave me the opportunity to improve my skills. Later on, my career in the biological and natural sciences drove me to keep nurturing my enthusiasm for naturalistic drawings.
Over the years I've discovered the intimate connection between science and art. I realized that drawing wildlife is the key to merging my greatest passions: science, art, and exploration.
​I use graphite, charcoal, chalk, watercolor pencils, watercolors, and pens for black and white sketches.
My goal is to use my drawings as an educational tool for naturalistic publications, field guides, and travel reports.
