Toluwani Obayan

From as far back as I can remember, I have never been able to resist the urge to turn everything into my canvas. Paired with my passion for change inspiring narratives, this has resulted in me finding creative expression through my published academic article “Audience Perception of Nollywood’s Recurrent Movie Themes as Agents of Socio-cultural Development” and narrative articles such as “the Tale of a Disgruntled Pair of Nigerian Flip-Flops” (a satirical protest against child abuse).

In 2017 I wrote, directed, and edited the short film, “Heart and Might” dedicated to Nigeria’s fallen heroes, and published my first book “Becoming a Spectacular Woman”- which calls out to women to live out their godly heritage.

I worked as the Head Writer of 'The Other News' (Nigeria’s foremost premier news and political satire show) and currently work as a Screenwriter and Script Consultant with top Nigerian Directors and Producers. Through my company Toluwani Obayan Works, Toluwani delivers Content and Media Production services (from Script to Screen) for individuals and companies.
