Retired June 2022 from teaching art and music to children ages 5 - 13, a career I loved passionately. At this point I still have a small group I teach on weekends. I studied early childhood education, drawing, painting, and sculpture in university, and worked in communication design for some years after graduation. When my children came along I became a teacher. All of my creativity went into my family and my students, and I had a lot of fun doing that. Creating lessons is a great way to learn about artists, techniques and art history.
Now I am ready to make art for myself and develop my own skills. I paint with water soluble oils and acrylics. Landscapes are personally meaningful to me, trees are some of my favorite characters. I am also interested in portrait painting.
