Skyler Yates

I have a background in teaching and sculpture. I only recently came back to keeping a daily sketchbook. I started Zentangling with an online group, Tangle All Around. Next came some creativebug zoom classes with my local library. After reading Samantha Dion Baker’s book, Draw Your Day, I started keeping a watercolor and ink journal. I watched many artists on YouTube like Becky Cao, Koosje Koene, and Alphonso Dunn to continue learning and growing my skills. I’ve been looking at tons of books on drawing like An Illustrated Life, Sketch Your Stuff by Jon Stich, and the Urban Sketching Handbook Series. I’m excited to be taking classes here at Domestika and look forward to learning more about drawing and building on my sketchbook practice.
