I began embroidering and sewing as a child, mostly through watching my mother create the most amazing items. My mother was extremely talented and she not only sewed, embroidered (smocking, crewel, tapestry), knitted, crochet but also arranged flowers she grew herself. Sadly my mother died a few years ago, so I am unable to learn from her anymore.
For many years I worked as a researcher in the medical-biological but left to continue raising a family. I am married and have two adult children, one who has just begun a career as an Alzheimers researcher and one who is just graduating high school. I home-schooled both my children for many years, work(ed) a retail job and have recently returned to teaching at a local tutoring institution.
Sewing, embroidering and other crafts are both my hobby and my way to unwind after long hard days.
