Ruth Rom

Hi! Im an artist and researcher working in South Africa.

I've spent my whole life making and creating things and work in a number of different mediums. I studied Fine Arts in Johannesburg, majoring in sculpture, installation and new media (sound art) but have always been drawn to the various modes of making. Whether its drawing, painting, sculpture, writing, filmmaking and anything else that can serve as a platform for my ideas.

For me, acquiring new artistic and creative skills allows me to explore new modes of representation when it comes to presenting my thoughts and ideas about the world. I want to be able to build, make and finesse beautiful yet functional objects and hopefully, within time, share such skills with other in order to uplift people and communities.
