My name is Brigette. I live in Devonport, Tasmania, Australia. I emigrated to Tasmania from the United Kingdom as a small child in 1969. From a small child I would sit for hours with colouring books and coloured pencils, seeing how I could create different aspects of colour using the coloured pencils. I started copying cartoons as a teenager and into young adulthood. I would continue to draw cartoon characters for my children when they were young. However, I discovered I could draw portraits in 1998, after my young son passed away by sketching from a photo of him. Sadly, I had to put my art on hold for quite some years, now, I cannot work due to autoimmune diseases, I picked up my pencils again in 2015 and discovered a fascination with portrait fantasy art, and then, followed a discovery for realism portraits, which I have drawn several portraits for friends. I want to pursue this art with pastels and coloured pencils, hence, I am enrolled in this course and look forward to learning more......
