Catherine Hostetter

I started my art career in 1st grade when I did my math in multiple colors of crayons (that’s math, right?) It didn’t go over big with my teacher and my mom was told at parent teacher conference that I was not to do my math in color. In high school, I found that my Art teacher was the husband of my 1st grade teacher! I have since puzzled why she didn’t understand my need to do math in color. Maybe that’s why I’ve never enjoyed math!
I am a painter - mainly in acrylic, but I have served as President of the Utah Watercolor Society, so yes I do WC, and I have also served as the President of Local Colors art gallery in Salt Lake City, UT. My subject matter is mostly animals and people, and I describe my work as Whimsical Realism. I can be found on Instagram under cathy_darling.
I am here at Domestika to polish and learn skills and techniques.
