I loved this course and learned so much, my key takes are definitely learning about how much detail to add (when to stop), not getting too distracted by all the beautiful colours and architectural details (those green-grey rooftops!) and rather focus on the contrasts (light and shadows). But I think this will improve over time... thank you so much, I got to see your beautiful art and I just love how you use your light/shadows to create that necessary drama, mood and feel... just wow! it really makes all the difference.

Thank you so much. I'm so glad you enjoyed the course! Your sketches are wonderful, and yeah, for me the key is to simplify things, and you're doing this very well. Your muted minimal colors are just enough to tell the story, and your use of detail is also very nice. I can see there's not really strong shadows in your reference photo, so we must look for other things to depict depth and volume. One thing to try next time is limiting the amount of details and ink for background objects. Try sketching these in with just pencil and paint. This will give a real sense of distance and atmospheric perspective. Well done!
Ah thank you very much Alex, hugely appreciated :)
