"'She wanted to warm herself', the people said.""But in the corner, leaning against the wall, sat the little girl with red cheeks and smiling mouth, frozen to death...""Her hands were almost dead with cold. Oh, how much one little match might warm her!"
@laryssa_spolsky So beautiful and delicate. I love how you played with that blue line and colors and a bit of red for some details of the character. The results of your illustrations are strong, poetic, delicate, cold but close... Amazing. It would be cool to see all the illustrations in a book format. Congratulations.
Thanks for joining my courses!! : D
@adolfoserra Thanks, Adolfo, for your kind words! It means a lot coming from someone as talented as you. And thank you so much for both your courses - I will gladly sign up should you have any more!
Any critiques to offer, other than to practice (I don't much like the girl in the last drawing, and I never figured out how to combine the hope of her visions with the pathos of her reality)?
@laryssa_spolsky Thanks!
Maybe you can change the look of her eyes... not looking at the reader.
And for the other thing, maybe you can do illustrations with red line and red colors for the hope and visions, with just a few things in blue. (Just doing the opposite of the reality in blue. You can use the color of her cheeks to show hope... and when she lost it everything turns blue. And cold.
I do not know. Just an idea!
