In this process, I used a color palette from a Chinese brand called 画家 (PINTOR in English) and round brushes #1 and #6. I didn't use watercolor paper. I decided to paint it on 240 gsm DUREX ARTISAN paper, an eighth of a sheet. Personally, and following the course instructions, I found gouache quite difficult to work with. Especially when diluting it, as it requires precise calculation to achieve the right consistency. It's similar to painting with school tempera paints, and it's difficult to create highlights and shadows because it dries quickly. I started with the same sketching routine, beginning with the washes, and this time, for the final project, I dared to outline it with a liner pen. Perhaps it wasn't the most advisable method, but I wanted to accentuate the painting with these strokes to create more vibrancy and texture.
En este proceso usé una paleta de colores de una marca China 画家 (PINTOR en español) y pinceles redondos # 1 y 6. No usé papel de acuarela. Me decidí pintarlo en DUREX marca ARTISAN de 240 grs en un octavo de pliego. Personalmente y siguiendo las indicaciones del curso encontré el GOUACHE bastante difícil de manejar. Sobre todo a la hora de diluirlo pues se requiere un cálculo preciso a la hora de diluir el pigmento y llevarlo a la consistencia adecuada. Pareciera pintar con témperas escolares y es complejo llevar el color a luces y sombras pues se seca rápido. Comencé con la misma rutina de bocetos a partir de las manchas y esta vez al proyecto final me atreví a delinearlo con un bolígrafo lainer. Quizá no era lo recomendable pero quise acentuar la pintura con estos trazos para generar más vivacidad y textura.
