Barracuda and Friends

I am a SCUBA diver, and when I can't be in the water myself, I live vicariously through my friends' travel pictures. I borrowed one from a friend's trip to dive off the coast of Cuba. It features a barracuda.

This is painted on Arches cold press with Daniel Smith watercolors. I added some metallic touches to the barracuda using hand-made paint from a local artist. I used Staedler fine liners and Uniball Signo white gel pen.

Instead of the acrylic background, I opted for a light watercolor wash. I then splattered a bit more concentrated paint while the wash was still wet.
