Hi ~ I am excited to share my project. I chose an image I found online. I chose this image because I thought it was beautiful, organic, fluid while had some structure so it allowed to me to make some adjustments. However, I learned that photo is not real, it was generated from AI. I thought I would have a chance to see it person but unfortunately no. However, it is inspired by Antonio Gaudi's beautiful architecture in Spain which I have visit and absolutely love. In my project, I tried to sketch what I saw in the photo but there some areas where it was too ornate or complex and so I simplified it. I think the hardest part is know how much or the style of inking the drawing. I wanted to be precise but at the same I wanted it to allow for freeform, or squiggles or not-straight lines. The next thing I found difficult was the watercolor and trying to understand what colors I use first such as in the plants with colored flowers. I realized I put down too much green and then had trouble getting the bright color flowers to show well over the green. But I had fun and proud of my final project. I'm excited to do another one very soon!
