I worked on idea of this project for a year I think. Since I didn’t have time to properly seat and work on it due to work I just had a chance last month to create the final illustration. It is not perfect, I have already seen many details that I want to edit but still I want to share it and say thank you to Carlo Stanga for his course and sharing his hints and knowledge. I enjoyed this courses and whole process of creation.
My project was dedicated to my hometown Petropavlovsk (St. Peter and St. Paul). It is located in North Kazakhstan and has mixture of ethnic groups, cultures, and religions. I tried to capture it history trough famous buildings of it that keeps many stories about the people who used to live here and are living now.

beautiful work! one detail i especially love about this drawing is that you chose to show people wearing both modern and 20th century clothing (people from ex-ussr countries would immediately recognize these!) to add even more layers to already diverse landscape that you captured. bravo!
