My first embroidered collar.
I really like it backed against these cyanotypes in my sewing room. I think it really makes the colours pop as the embroidery thread I worked with is quite pale and delicate.
I made plenty of mistakes and learned lots of things! Thanks for this course Amanda.

It's so exciting to see this final piece that you made.
I agree that what you put behind the final project can really change the colours. You are right- the blue behind really makes the colours pop and show off the way that you have used the stitches to create varied and interesting textures. I love how you have built in some a-symmetry to the collar with the jelly fish that sweeps across the bottom left of the work. This also creates a lot of movement!
I think that's part of learning the technique- I still make mistakes but learning from them is the most important.
