I did 2 different illustrations for this Rashguard. The first one has a skull face. The second version has a human face.I started by drawing the skull face then I created a 2nd layer and drew the human face.I kept the transparency at 50% while drawing the face so I could line up the features with the underlying skull. I mirrored the face to create symmetry and then added details on each side so that it isn't perfectly symmetrical. Here's the illustration that I created for the back. I began this illustration using a marker set to about 25% transparency.I keep everything loose and energetic in the beginning. Towards the end of the sketch I focus on adding dark shadows and highlights. Then I set up a separate layer and begin inking. The tapered brush works really well to create a sense of motion. Then the image is imported into Adobe Illustrator to add color and extra details. .
