I wanted to paint something from my recent trip to Thailand, so I picked a wicker shop in Chiangmai. I want to capture the overflowing inventories. The reference photo is quite desaturated, but I want to explore using colours from my gouache kit, so I painted it more vibrant than it is. I find that my final result looks too organized. I should have added more baskets. The painting process was fun regardless.

Teacher PlusWhat a fascinating shop! I can totally see why you wanted to paint it!I love the texture you have created and depth within the scene because t makes me want to explore inside!
I think to take your art to the next level look into building the 'Form' of the objects outside. They read well as 'Shapes' but with a little more tonal range to make the more dimensional you'll really get them to look 3D. Try and create some still life artworks as practice as I feel it will complement your landscape paintings as well. You could even make use of more mixed media too!
Well done though and I can't wait to see what you create next!😁
