My project for course: Illustration of Hands with Expressive Watercolors

I avoid drawing or painting hands with a passion. So I really needed this course and boy did I feel out of my comfort zone. But Sol was fun and explained her process well. I still struggled a lot. And at one point I wanted to quit. So I picked up my Posca markers and drew a dark blue outline around the hands. What had I to lose? The little painting began to breath again so I decided to load it into Procreate and see what happens. What I learned? Hands are still really tough. I will keep tracing for a while. But they can be done. And well...when in doubt. Add a lot of contrast and see what happens...:) Thank you Sol! I enjoyed your course very much. Will have to try a lot more hands before they will become more confortable, but I like the option to have hands to add a lot more context and emotion to a portrait. That is really a big gift. So thank you!
