My Life as a Nanny

I worked as a nanny while attending art school and my art at the time, including this quilt, was inspired by my daily life then. I used to drop the kids off and pick them up at school, and I was delighted by all of the socks scattered around the playground. The school allowed the kids to go barefoot and the socks represented joyous days of intense play and getting dirty. The portraits are oil paintings of my charges.
