My project for course: Illustrated Stories: From Idea to Paper

My final project is inspired by the poem "For Whom the Bell Tolls", by John Donne.
It is also inspired by my childhood.
"No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee".
I still have a lot to learn about illustrating, watercolors, fineliners and taking photos of my drawings (I'm kind of a mew-timer in all of them). But I feel that waht I learned in this course goes way beyond those.
Alfredo, I want to thank you for all the knowledge and tips, but mainly for encouraging me to set my own rules on the universes I create, and to embrace "good" mistakes.
I also learned to never be impatient towards my indecisiveness. It is what it is, and thank god there's no ctrl+z in watercolors. I feel like I chose my punishment, and I'm going to enjoy it to the max :)
So - thank you, again, for this incredible course.
I'm waiting for your next one to come up!

Teacher PlusI read the poem many years ago, as it is printed on the first page of Hemingway's "For whom the bell tolls". Your take on it is bold and fascinating, I`m so glad you took the course, thanks for this :)
Best
Alfredo
