This is a postcard I drew for my grand-daughter's 13th birthday.
I Googled lots of 13 theme doodles so there are some that I lifted, some I got inspired by, and some that are my own creations, based on what my grand-daughter likes.
I think she loves her postcard that she received on February 10th 2022.
She got it in an enveloppe I adressed following the course recommendations.
Then, as I'm a sketchbook addict, and I keep a Carnet de Gratitude, I drew the card again, in a smaller format to illustrate the day of her birthday.
This is the list of material I used :
Boesner Watercolor Postcards (10,5 x 14,8cm DIN A6, 300 g/m²
Faber Castell graphite pencil HB
Tombow plastic eraser
Tombow Dual Brush ABT in color 312 and 942
Brush Sign Pen in Pale Blue
Unipin Fineliner in black, 0.5, 0.1, 0.003

There are now 3 projects that cover my Carnet de Gratitude (started in Kate Sutton's course "Illustrated Life Journal : a daily mindful practice")
- First pages of the Carnet de Gratitude (from November 7 to November 21 + various other exercices)
- Follow-up n°1 (from November 22 to December 31)
- Follow-up n°2 (from January 1 to January 31)
This is my first Lettering card.
I have a lot to learn : uneven spacing... poor choice of font styles and wobbly letters ;-) but it will get better with practice and inspiration.

PlusSuch a charming and beautiful card--your granddaughter will cherish it forever!!! (And the miniaturized version in the sketchbook is delightful!)
