Learned a lot in this course. Thanks so much Cagla! I decided to go back to a painting I wasn't happy with at all, and used the Acryla gouache to fix up and add to my base painting. Took my time as you showed, and used much smaller brushes like the detailed brush you also showed. Then I used a little bit of Winsor Newton Designer gouache for top layers to avoid the reactivating of previous layer, again as you showed. Loved watching your process, and tried to apply it myself where I could...calm, patient, methodical, and deliberate in choices. I struggled with the background as it was a mixed colour, and I find if I don't finish it in one go, when I go back to it it looks streaky. I prefer a smooth effect. My colour palette seems missing something I find, so any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!!

Hello! First of all, your lovely words made me very happy! I am over the clouds to know that my course has been so helpful to you. Thank you for sharing this with me! I fully understand if you like smooth backgrounds but I honestly like to see some brush strokes and color changes in the background. You know, this is something you can't get with digital tools, so maybe enjoy this painted look :) The composition is very nice, your lines look very pretty and the colors are lovely. You know, this is my favourite color scheme which is used in many Turkish tiles. If you would like to make it a little more cheerful, you could add pink. Or, as I often use, you could add some mustard yellow, raw sienna shades. But, I see no reason to change anything on this palette. I like it a lot. But I could give you one tip about the dark bird on the top. That one is a little too dark and takes the attention before the cute two birds at the bottom. I think those two birds should be the main focus. So, if you want you could add a little more beige (or is it light gray? Screen is not perfect to see the real colors) on its wings or back feathers. But it is not a must, just something that I came up with at the moment :) I hope you continue to paint by using these both gouache options and I wish you good luck! :) Love, Cagla
