The Achieving Peacemaker - Macrame Wall Plater

The Achieving Peacemaker is a gorgeous piece of textile art that also serves a function.

I created this piece to be a part of a virtual Enneagram Art Show in the Spring of 2020, at a time when a lot of people needed something to brighten their spirits.

The participating artists were asked to include a piece that was inspired by their Enneagram numbers. If you don't know wat the Enneagram is it is a type of personality classification that I think actually does a pretty good job of zeroing in on specific personality traits and characteristics. My dominant enneagram split is between a Type 2, The Helper, and a Type 9, The Peacemaker. I chose to create a piece based on the Peacemaker side of myself for this specific show because it was something I so desperately was seeking for myself at the time.

A peacemaker seeks balance and unity between all things and themselves. Something I'm sure we all want sometimes, especially during those more chaotic events.

The colors were chosen to create a vibrant and positive emotion that made you want to smile. And I decided to make this into a plant holder to incorporate my own spiritual connection to the earth and it's living things. The unity between us and our planet, between ourselves and others, plant, creature, and man.

I ended up winning an Etsy Design Award in the fall of 2020 for this striking piece. And now that I have had the amazing opportunity of creating a tutorial with Domestika, it was a treat to craft a piece that is originally inspired by this very piece!
