@urbanandeden HI Michelle, I love the setting! Nature's gallery! It's hard for me to see up close in this photo but from what I can tell they are good paintings and each has it's own character. I would love to have seen some of the expressive marks that you explored during the course in these final pieces - some of them were so free, especially your squirrel drawings. I loved them! But that's a personal preference and no reflection on the quality of these as a final series of images, which are very careful studies and very well rendered. Well done!
@laura_mckendry Hi Laura, I've edited the post above and included a close up shot and one of my loose practice drawings of squirrel using the gold watercolour ground on paper which gave the paper quite a rough texture but interesting combination with watercolour pens and ink. As I was sketching for my project my drawings kept developing into studies, so finally I ended up with a project that was more like little portraits - rather than illustrations. As always, thank you for your helpful comments, really appreciated.
