My project in Costume Design for Film and TV course

Hello!

This is my final project for "Costume Design for Film and TV" course.
The course was amazing and I learned so much in it. It exceeded my expectations and I´m so grateful for all the knowledge and encoragement that Bina and Pepo passed to us,students.

Along the course I choose the movie " El Laberinto del Fauno" to complete certain taks. Since it´s a movie with a concept and theme that calls my attention, I found it fitting that for my final project I start thinking about creating a Moodboard for the movie.

So my final project represents my interpetation of references and ideias that would fit the characters in the movie. I started by searching the fashion of the time (1940s) and also fashion for the different characters and social backgrounds represented in the movie, and then created a Pinterest page with all the ideias i had.

Then, I printed the images that I wanted in the moodboard and selected them by characters. After that, I started to sew the images, in collumn, on the fabric in characters order. I couldn´t find the right samples of prints and fabric to sew on the big fabric, so I just printed the fabric print that I wanted in paper, and sew it.

Since a big part of the movie its dedicated to the Mystic side, Nature, creatures, I had the ideia to hot glue plastic leafs and little green stones to certain parts to give the ideia of a Forest, and to help transport the people who are "reading" the moodboard to that universe.

I had so much fun creating it and to explore ,even deeper, my artistic side.
