For my final project, I'm unable to choose something that looks finished and "done" because the point of this course for me was to get better at playing and exploring. I am very capable when it comes to making a "finished project" that "looks good", but what I learned from @LauraMcKendry was how to not strive so hard for perfection, but, rather, to leave space for the viewer's eyes to complete the picture. So these pieces are sketches for the most part, done with many different materials, using many different flowers or scenes from nature. I have reveled in the process of creating and am very excited to know Laura has another course coming. Otherwise, it would be too hard to leave this one behind! Thanks, Laura, for your great instruction and helpful and supportive comments throughout. It's been wonderful working with you.

Teacher PlusHi Susan
I have commented on many of these individual pieces throughout the course, but it's wonderful to see them collectively. Together they really demonstrate your exploratory approach in applying different media and techniques. I loved reading your comment, to know that you approached this course with such a playful and open mind. And I think it shows in these works. You are clearly already a talented artist, but I wonder whether you would have made these creative discoveries and created such an array of engaging works without adopting such a curious approach? Congratulations on a super series of images and thank you for your engagement throughout the course. I hope to see you on the next one! ;-)
Best wishes

Laura, thank you so much for your kind words.
The answer to your question - NO! I wouldn't have! Your instruction was instrumental in helping me become more curious and to have strategies for exploration. I am deeply grateful and look forward to the next class. I'll start it the moment I see it come across the screen.
Now to take these approaches and the curiosity and playfulness to the easel, to work a bit larger, perhaps to try it in pastels, my usual medium.
Your comments have been deeply encouraging and insightful. I am very grateful.
