Dear Sarah, thank you for the nice course and inspiration. I've learned a lot again to improve my drawing skills. It's a challenge for me to draw a self-portrait. Unfortunately my hair is no longer dark, but "cool gray" and short. So it happens easily to look like a grandmother :-). Maybe you have some advice for me?
I think drawing people is no big problem for me, but I'll continue to practice drawing myself in various everyday situations.

Teacher PlusHi Anette,
These look great! I especially like the the Easter preparation one. The perspective and colors you've used are stunning. (the shower one is also great btw)
I think getting comfortable with drawing yourself just takes time. And about the grey hairs.... I think it's because we are used to associating grey hair with grandparents, maybe even more so than wrinkles. You could always try out different kinds of grey. I often use a pale blue instead of grey. But If it helps: I don't think the character you drew based on yourself looks like a grandmother!

Plus@sarahvandongenillustration Hello Sarah, thanks for the feedback. Yes, I've also thought of light blue as a hair color. That probably makes it (me) fresher. :-)
Many greetings and happy Easter days.

Plus@sarahvandongenillustration Light blue for gray hair is great! I really like it now. I'll try a little more and with the results I will add to my project.

Hi, I really like your drawings! The one in the shower en the dog walk! You already have a style of your own. Love it.

I like your language of drawing. A style can be recognized that defines the very personal "handwriting". So definitely keep it. best regards

Annette, I loved your illustrations! Another option for the hair is a light purple/lilac.
Greetings to the Osterhase!

Annette, I just love the examples of your work that you posted. Your people are so vibrant and interesting - can’t imagine being able to get as accomplished as you! I know, it just takes practice. And more practice.😉((Why is gray hair a problem any more than any other color?)
a_brockmann
Plus@solander_mt Thank you for your feedback. Gray hair isn't really a problem ;-), but it quickly looks a bit boring and that's why I thought about making mine light blue. I just like it better. That's all.
